Pals looking for forever homes

Please take a moment to read each dog’s profile carefully.

We’re all about matching the right home to the right pup, so we can only consider applications that meet the specific needs listed.

We’re based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire — so a visit is required before any adoption can go ahead.

Our standard adoption fee is £300. This may vary in special cases, but £300 is the usual.

Thanks for being part of this journey. Let’s find these dogs the loving homes they deserve — one happy tail at a time. 🐾

Chunk

Meet Chunk – Our Little Lad with a Big Heart

🐾 Age: 3–4 Years
🐾 Breed: Pocket Bully
🐾 Status: Neutered, available soon

Chunk hasn’t had the easiest ride. He was living in a home without secure fencing and kept managing to escape. After being picked up multiple times by locals and the dog warden, his owner stopped collecting him—and that’s when he came to us.

Since arriving at Pabs and Pals, Chunk has shown he’s a good boy at heart. With some guidance, he’s learning to walk nicely on the lead and take the world in stride. He loves affection and is happiest just chilling out, soaking up fuss in a calm, loving home.

🌟 What Chunk Needs:

  • A secure home environment (no more escape missions!)

  • Someone who enjoys training and helping him thrive

  • A calm home where he can be a companion, not a project

  • Ongoing assessment before adoption to see how he handles busier settings

Chunk has been neutered and is currently recovering. He’ll be ready to go in the next few days, and in the meantime, we’ll be taking him into town and different environments to see how he copes with the hustle and bustle.

If you’re after a laid-back, loving lad who just wants to be part of a home again, Chunk could be your perfect match. Apply now to meet him!

Otis

Meet Otis!

🐾 Age: 2 Years
🐾 Breed: Boxer/Staffie Cross
🐾 Needs: Experienced home, no other pets

Otis has had a rough start, but he's not given up—and neither have we. Passed to us by the council, Otis had been left in a yard day and night, completely isolated from the world. The scars on his nose suggest he was used as a bait dog, but his spirit is still strong.

Since joining the Pabs & Pals family, Otis has gone from a malnourished 20kg to a strong, healthy 40kg. He’s learning what love and kindness feel like—and it’s been amazing to watch him grow.

🌟 Otis’ Journey:

  • Zero human aggression: Despite his past, he’s shown nothing but love for people.

  • Still learning: He’s come a long way with lead training but still needs support.

  • Big dog, big heart: Needs someone confident with large, reactive dogs.

  • Solo star: Must be the only dog in the home—his background makes dog interactions very difficult.

  • For the right person: If you’re ready for a challenge with huge rewards, Otis will give you everything he's got.

Otis deserves a second chance—and the right person will see what an incredible, loving companion he can be. If you’ve got the experience and heart to take on this journey, apply below.

Brandy

Meet Brandy – Our Golden Girl with a Big Heart

🐾 Age: 10 Months
🐾 Breed: Greyhound x Staffy
🐾 Needs: Adult-only home, ideally as the only pet

Brandy is a beautiful golden-coated Greyhound/Staffy mix with a heart just as warm as her colouring. At only 10 months old, she’s already showing what a well-mannered, affectionate dog she can be.

She walks brilliantly on a halti and hasn’t shown any reactivity around other dogs. That said, she’d be best suited to a home where she’s the only pet, giving her the space to grow in confidence and continue her training.

🌟 Why Brandy’s a Star:

  • Golden beauty with a calm nature

  • Walks well on the lead with a halti

  • Friendly and gentle

  • Will thrive with structure and patience

Due to her size and playful energy, we’d recommend no young children—she means well but may be a little too much for the little ones!

If you're after a loyal companion who’s ready to learn and love, Brandy might just be your perfect fit. Apply now to meet this special girl.

Billy

Meet Billy – Blue-Eyed Boy Looking for His Big Break

🐾 Age: 1 Year Old
🐾 Breed: American Bulldog
🐾 Needs: Adult-only, pet-free home with time for training

Billy is a stunning 9-month-old American Bulldog with the kind of piercing blue eyes that stop you in your tracks. He’s still just a big pup with lots to learn, but he’s already showing signs of becoming a proper gentleman with the right guidance.

He’s off for his vet check tomorrow, and once that’s done, he’ll be ready to find a home that can give him the time, patience, and structure he needs.

🌟 Billy’s Ideal Home:

  • No kids – he’s still young and a bit too boisterous for little ones

  • No other pets – he needs all the focus to grow into his best self

  • Confident owner willing to continue his training and help him thrive

Billy’s full of potential and just waiting for someone to bring it out of him. If you're up for the challenge (and the cuddles), Billy could be your perfect sidekick.

Apply now to meet this handsome lad!

Delilah

Meet Delilah – A Rare Akita with a Golden Temperament

🐾 Age: 1 Year
🐾 Breed: Akita
🐾 Needs: Experienced Akita owner, ideally with no small children

Delilah’s story is heartbreaking, but her spirit hasn’t been broken. She was found roaming the streets alone by a local ambulance crew during a home visit. They couldn’t bring themselves to leave her behind. When they located her owner, they were told outright she was no longer wanted—and Delilah wasn’t even allowed back inside.

Despite her rough start, Delilah has shown nothing but kindness and calm. For such a young Akita, her temperament is unbelievably gentle. She’s sociable with other dogs, non-reactive, and takes everything in her stride with a maturity well beyond her age.

🌟 Why Delilah’s Special:

  • Incredibly well-behaved and affectionate

  • Great with other dogs

  • No signs of aggression

  • A soft soul with the loyalty typical of her breed

While she’s not your “typical” Akita in terms of temperament, she’s still an Akita—and we’d love to find her a home with someone who knows and understands the breed. She deserves someone who won’t just appreciate how easygoing she is now, but also knows how to guide her into adulthood the right way.

If you’ve got experience with Akitas (or similar breeds) and space in your life for a loyal companion who’s already defied the odds, Delilah might be your perfect match. Apply now to give this incredible girl the home she’s never had.
